August, 3 weeks old
There’s just something about newborns.
Those little fingers and toes, the stiff, almost robotic movements – and don’t get me started on the scent of their heads. While I was pregnant with my first child, people kept going on and on about that scent and I just didn’t get it. Oh, I get it now – so I try to get in a few sniffs here and there when I can – therefore, I got so excited to be able to photograph little August.
Still in that sleep-all-day phase (remember those?!) and so very small and delicate, August and his parents smoothly got through the session and I was sad to see that little human leave my home.
A few weeks after I received the loveliest message from his mother, telling me how happy and proud August’s great-grandmother is to have his portrait hanging by her bed.
The best compliment one can get.
